ABOUT
Andrea Sowden
Andrea Sowden
I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist who completed a Graduate Diploma in Analytic Psychotherapy (51281) at The Churchill Clinic (National Provider Code: 1957).
I believe that the ‘relationship we have with ourselves’ informs how we are in relationship with others. Self-loathing, destructive/critical self-talk, low appreciation of oneself and limiting core beliefs negatively impact on how we are in the world.
Having worked with a wide variety of people on a one-to-one basis for more than 20 years in both counselling and psychotherapy, I feel privileged to have assisted in bringing about positive changes in individuals’ lives.

PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING
Talking about our problems or issues through the process of psychotherapy or counselling increases self-awareness, identifies barriers and/or destructive patterns and promotes emotional growth. This in turn benefits work, play and relationships - and increases an overall sense of well-being. Talking does help - particularly in a friendly, non-judgemental and professional environment.
Therapy assists us to understand ourselves and helps us to make changes for a better future. The goal of psychotherapy and counselling is to rediscover your own voice, your own priorities, to find the courage to act on them - and to be our best selves.
“Feeling real is more than existing; it is finding a way to exist as oneself... and to have a self into which to retreat for relaxation.” – Donald W Winnicott
