With Andrea Your Counselling Is Tailored and Matched Specifically to You
I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist who completed a Graduate Diploma in Analytic Psychotherapy (51281) at The Churchill Clinic (National Provider Code: 1957). I believe that the ‘relationship we have with ourselves’ informs how we are in relationship with others. Self-loathing, destructive/critical self-talk, low appreciation of oneself and limiting core beliefs negatively impact on how we are in the world.
Having worked with a wide variety of people on a one-to-one basis for more than 20 years in both counselling and psychotherapy, I feel privileged to have assisted in bringing about positive changes in individuals’ lives. This experience has resulted in the development of my individual approach to psychotherapy which is intuitive, compassionate and respectful.
My experience includes working with at-risk young people, people with disabilities, long-term unemployed people and people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
My private psychotherapy practice provides an accepting and nurturing environment where the client is paramount – with a focus on the integration of authentic changes into everyday life.
I regularly participate in workshops, seminars, conferences and clinical supervision for ongoing professional and personal development.
- “Intensive Trauma Treatment Course” (online) with Dr Bessel van der Kolk, MD.
- Current Professional Development is focusing on “The Body Keeps the Score – Brain, Mind and Body in the Healing of Trauma” by Dr Bessel van der Kolk, MD at The Lindsay Centre.

With me, your therapy is tailored and matched specifically to you as an individual, focusing on both your existing strengths and areas you have identified as needing assistance. I see you as a person, not simply a set of symptoms. We will work with your existing strengths to find the best way forward.
My time in the “client chair” has been invaluable. Finding a therapist who has done their own “work” is an important consideration is selecting a counsellor or psychotherapist for you.
